こっきしん【克己心】

a self-denying spirit; a spirit of self-denial; a spirit of (self-)restraint.

●克己心がない have no control over oneself [one's desires, one's appetites]; be unable to restrain oneself [resist temptation]; lack self-denial; have no command over oneself.

●克己心に富む人 a person with great self-control; a person with command over his appetites; a person who can control his desires.

●克己心のある self-denying; stoic(al).
